I have traditionally used Michelin Xice tires but they were not available in the size my Jeep requires. The wonderful folks at the Hackettstown, NJ MAVIS presented several other options for snow/ice tires and after discussing my driving requirements, I decided to give the Pirelli tires a try. They perform great, for a snow tire, typical of the type of tire. I usually drive my snow tires down to the end of tread, which with the Michelins gave me approx. 50,000 miles. I will do the same with these new tires because I want to see what I can get from them. So far, they are great and the road noise is at a minimum. I can feel the road a bit more with these but nothing objectionable. Handling is very good as well. As of this point I believe that I have found a new ice/snow tire for the future.
